Welcome to Salisbury State School – a primary school in the leafy suburbs bordering Toohey Forest conservation area. We are positioned only 15 minutes from Brisbane City, close to major shopping precincts, Griffith University and local industry.
In 2024, we are a growing school with the highest enrolment in 35 years. Our NAPLAN and internal data shows student achievement, positive behaviour and well-being is continuously improving.
Celebrating our 100th Anniversary in 2020, Salisbury SS has a vibrant history, from the original farm and forestry industries, transitioning through the WW2 years of armament factories, post-war refugee settlement, and finally being surrounded by the bustling suburbs of a growing Brisbane City.
Our location has resulted in a multicultural school with more than 20 languages and cultural backgrounds represented by our families. Established gardens, parks, vibrant coffee and leisure precincts are scattered through the suburb. Suburban renewal has arrived, with local residential real estate developments highly sought after.
Salisbury State School is a connected community that believes:
- In teaching the whole child. A child is not a computer to be programmed, but a life-long learner to be nurtured.
- Our school is proudly an Inclusive School Community. We believe that all students can and will succeed with support and guidance.
- Partnerships with parents and community make all the difference. This is evident in the many parent volunteers and the enormous contribution our P&C Volunteers make to our school. Local business and service organizations have strong relationships with us.
- Local children should be able to go to their local State school. Providing Equitable access to education is our mission.
