Salisbury Serpents are lifelong learners who encourage others, and are engaged and positive members of the school community.
Salisbury State School is committed to fostering a positive, safe and respectful learning environment for students and staff, where students have opportunities to engage in quality learning experiences and acquire values supportive of their lifelong wellbeing.
The foundation of our approach is the Positive Behaviour for Learning Framework, and our understanding, language and actions are guided by the Berry St Education Model (BSEM), and Zones of Regulation.
Salisbury State School uses PBL as the multi-tiered system of support for behaviour in the school. This is a whole-school approach, used in all classrooms and programs offered through the school, including sporting activities and excursions.
PBL is an evidence-based framework used to:
- promote positive student behaviour by building the capacity and knowledge of staff, and the understanding and skills required in applying effective school-wide systems that support learning.
- support schools to creative positive learning environments that promote wellbeing.
- help schools deliver highest quality learning programs to improve student academic and behavioural learning.
Our school community has identified four core Schoolwide Behaviour Expectations, to promote and teach high standards of responsible behaviour. Salisbury Serpents:
