School Camp
Each year our senior students (Years 5/6) are offered the opportunity to participate in a three-day camp. The venue alternates each year. Families are given ample notice of the intended dates, often in the previous year. Camps are becoming expensive, so we always attempt to find a reputable, value for money option.
The purpose of our camp is to develop student's personal organisation and group skills. Students are put into unfamiliar and challenging situations where they try activities that may be outside their regular comfort zone. They will also need to collaborate with other students in small or large groups to complete tasks.
Although there is an element of leadership training as a senior student, setting and achieving personal goals is a priority. Just getting yourself organised for the day is a skill in itself. We also understand that this may also be the first time students have stayed away from home without a family member.
Feedback from students has always been positive and we encourage your child to participate.
Excursions and Incursions
We attempt to provide experiences beyond the regular classroom each semester for every year level. Some of these are off site where we travel to a venue. However, costs for these activities and bus hire have risen dramatically making these difficult. Therefore, we often also organise presenters and activities to be held onsite.
We are mindful of the impact on families of these costs whenever we organise an activity an only choose events that have an educational function.
