In this school, emphasis is placed on participation and sportsmanship and not on winning at all costs. Children are allocated to a sporting house when they are enrolled at the school.
The school is divided into three sporting house teams. They are:-
Griffith (green)
Nathan (red)
During the school year, all students can participate in the big three sporting events (Swimming Carnival, Cross Country and Athletics Day). All students who participate earn points for their house with the winning houses being awarded a shield for each event.
Students turning 9 and up have the opportunity to be crowned age champion.
Students turning 10, 11 and 12 each year are invited to trail for the Eastern Taipans Representative teams.
In recent years, Salisbury State School has had a number of students each year who have earned a place in the Eastern Taipans representative teams. For the full range of available sports, please click here.
Salisbury State School has a proud partnership with Salisbury Scorpions Swimming Club and through this partnership we have a growing number of swimmers represent not only the district but also the region at state level swimming carnivals.
